Auckland Swing Dance Competitions 2019

Get ready for Auckland’s annual swing dance competition! This is an opportunity to show off your flashiest moves and dancing skills. We have a range of categories you can enter so this is an awesome way to learn, improve and challenge yourselves! Most importantly, we want you to have fun, so bring your family and friends to support Auckland’s swing dance scene.

These competitions are really about having a good time and we encourage everyone to enter - there's nothing to be afraid of, and we have a range of great prizes!

The categories are:

Mix and Match (novice and open) - (Novice: Dancing 18 months or less)

You’ll be paired with random partners and get to show us your best social dancing!

Strictly Lindy

Enter this category with a partner, we’ll do some dancing in a group (“all skates”) before moving onto shines.

Strictly Balboa

Similar to Strictly Lindy, but with Balboa!

Solo Jazz

Bust out your best hot solo jazz!

Fast and Furious

For the hardcore - swing out hard and fast, get ready to sweat!

Enter with a partner and see what happens, we double dare you.
